What is Chinese remedial massage?

Firstly, let’s get to the very basics of what Chinese remedial massage is. To put it simply, Chinese remedial massage is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and, as such, uses acupuncture points, meridians, and groups of muscles and nerves to promote the flow of qi (pronounced chee, meaning life force or energy), and remove blockages, improving your health and vitality.

How is Chinese remedial massage different to other forms of massage?

While other forms of massage primarily use only massaging techniques, Chinese remedial massage can also use a range of manual therapy techniques to assess and support a range of conditions. These techniques include tui na, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and topical herbal applications. You may find a Chinese remedial massage treatment combines a number of these techniques depending on what you are seeing your practitioner for.

What can Chinese remedial massage treat?

People frequently use Chinese remedial massage to support overall wellbeing and to treat a whole host of conditions which include pain, circulation, digestive conditions, anxiety, stress, fertility, and insomnia.

Typically, when you go in for your treatment, your practitioner will listen to your health concerns and develop a personalised treatment plan. Once you’re comfortable with the approach your treatment will begin. Just so you know, in a Chinese remedial massage treatment at Endeavour Wellness Clinic you will not be prescribed herbs nor will your practitioner use needles.
